MEDIC Blood Drive: Thursday, Oct. 29

Posted Date: 10/23/26 (04:24 PM)

Hi Seymour High School,

The Health Science Program will be hosting a blood drive on Thursday, October 29, and you are invited to donate blood. You will be saving a life!

  • Do not donate during Algebra 1, 2 or geometry today because there is testing. Donate afterward.

  • You must be 16 or older to donate

  • 16 y/o must weigh at least 125 lbs.

  • 17 y/o and up must weigh at least 115 lbs.

  • Students must have a consent form signed by your parent/guardian. Get forms outside room 109 on the wall or from Ms. Hess

  • Sevier County policy is that if you donate blood, you can’t practice or play in a game on the day of the donation. Check with your coaches.

  • Eat a good breakfast with protein

  • Drink plenty of fluids before and after donating, such as water, sports drink, or juice.

  • It takes about an hour.

  • Bring your ID--If you forget, I might be able to help IF your picture is on file in the office.

  • Know what medicine you take and your international travel history (where and when, month/year)

  • If you donate 4 times during your high school years, MEDIC will give you a red cord for graduation!

  • Use the link below to schedule! Schedule with friends! I will be sending a schedule to your teachers and they want to see that you have signed up.

Donors will receive a free Dr Medic t-shirt, a reusable water bottle and possibly some coupons. Chick-fil-a chicken biscuits are usually available as long as supplies last (you may need to request it).  After you donate, there are snacks like Little Debbies, crackers, juice and soft drinks. You should eat something before you leave the bus. It is customary to sit and snack or take snacks to eat after donating. People who feel ill usually haven’t eaten enough.

To sign up to donate, scan the QR code or the link below. If you need assistance signing up, or need more information, see Mrs. Hess in room 109.
