  • Schools in Sevier County will dismiss at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 18th due to traffic associated with the fall rod run. 

  • Sophomores and Juniors, It is time to register for the PSAT. The PSAT will be given on Wednesday, October 21st. The PSAT gives you an opportunity to see how you would perform on the SAT and helps you practice taking standardized exams needed for college entrance. If you are a Junior and take it, depending on your scores, your scores can be entered as part of the National Merit Scholar Scholarship. The PSAT cost is $10.00, and forms are available through Google Classroom or in the counseling office. The exam is a digital online exam. The registration form and $10.00 fee are due to the counseling office by Friday, September 18th.

  • Seniors, if you are trying for the Top Ten Percent, come by the counseling office and initial to confirm your status.

  • LIV IT Ministries is looking for volunteers for their Fashion for a Cause fashion show honoring our hometown heroes to be held on Oct. 24th. We are looking for students who are interested in being models in the runway show or as part of the serving staff for the event. Please see Dr. Smallwood in the auditorium in the morning or in room 103 after school to sign up for this community service event.

  • SHS Theatre Dept. presents Book of Awesome-a book of monologues “Coffee House Style” on Thursday, September 17, in the SHS auditorium. Doors open at 5:15 p.m. The show starts at 6:00 p.m. $5.00 donation encouraged; concessions will be available (coffee, baked goods & snacks)

  • The Great Smoky Mountain College Fair is on September 24th during school. There will be close to 50 colleges attending. Students who are interested may come to pick up a permission form in the guidance office. Permission forms are due back no later than September 22 at 12 pm. Please return your permission form asap to secure your spot. Priority will go to seniors, followed by juniors for any remaining transportation spots available.
